Boraro – Deep within the mist-veiled jungle of the Amazon rainforest, where few dare to tread, the Boraro lurks — a nightmare of coarse fur, wooden flesh and vine. Neither
beast nor spirit, its form is both familiar and wrong – a towering figure cloaked in shadow with feet that point backward, leaving tracks that lead nowhere and confuse even the keenest hunter. Its eyes gleam with a hollow hunger, and its mouth is lined with jagged teeth, ready to claim its next victim.
But the true horror of the Boraro is what it does after the kill. It does not feast on flesh.
Instead, it sucks the internal organs out of its victims, leaving behind only a hollow, intact skin. With effortless precision, it then blows air into the emptied husk, inflating it like a grotesque, swollen balloon.
The Boraro does not roar, nor does it howl – it whispers. A breath on the wind, a rustle in the canopy, and then…silence. Those who hear it rarely live to tell the tale.
