A very fine pigment makes the Matt White Undercoat a perfect primer for all paint jobs. The paint dries very quickly and leaves every detail on the miniature in excellent condition.
Remember to always check our video tutorials on how to use Colour Primers.

    Gun Metal

The Gun Metal spray is the latest installment in the successful line of Colour Primers from The Army Painter. The Gun Metal is a rich and dark metal and is nothing but the perfect basecoat for Knights and dark Sci-Fi & Fantasy. Especially vehicles will benefit tremendously from this spray – and a worn and battle scarred look is easily achieved by applying Warpaints colours onto the matt surface. We recommend Quickshade: DARK Tone or the Warpaints: Dark tone ink for the perfect shading.

    Alien Purple

A rich purple suited for a multitude of purposes. Perfect for Tyranids, Dark Elves, Dark Eldar, any Chaos and also to spice up ordinary races - like humans - Imperial Guard or Empire.
Purple is not a standard colour and therefore it will make your army highly unique and striking to behold. Recommended DARK Tone QS.

    Barbarian Flesh

This Colour Primer is great for spraying miniatures with exposed skin, saving you loads of time. Superb with Celts, hordes of Viking beserks and Barbarians in general. Especially Ogre Kingdoms would make great use of this colour, but also Beastmen and Skaven would benefit, making their fur more realistic and enabling you to knock out large regiments very fast.

    Goblin Green

The Goblin Green colour is well known and the Colour Primer spray is perfect for all your greenskins, scenery and wood elves. Also Imperial Guardsmen, Tau etc. will benefit from this very useful spray.
The Colour Primer is a 100% match to the Warpaint of the same name.

    Leather Brown

This spray is ideal for wood (warmachines and Chariots), leather and brown skin and fur. Also use for great effect on horses, wolves, Beastmen and Minontaurs for instance.
This spray coupled with DARK Tone Quickshade makes for great Zulu warriors with lots of exposed skin - saving you many hours of basecoating!

    Crystal Blue

Crystal Blue is a light and nice crisp blue perfect for especially High Elves, but is also the colour for all Lizardmen. Try it on Tau, Eldar, Imp. guards or for instance Tzeentch Demons or Chaos Warriors! It has many uses and looks extremely good with any Quickshade especially the DARK Tone.

    Skeleton Bone

As the name suggests, this Colour Primer has been designed to look exactly like Bleached Bone making it an absolut must for armies of shambling dead. This spray is increasingly popular for British WWII desert uniforms/vehicles as a lighter alternative to Desert Yellow.

    Daemonic Yellow

This Colour Primer has a clear and crisp colour and is imminent for Space Marines, Daemons, Eldar, Lizards, Dragons or any army with a striking colour scheme. We advice a SOFT Tone or STRONG Quickshade for maximum result.

    Fur Brown

This colour will look fantastic on Skaven, Beastmen and any creature with fur on it. Allied with this Colour Primer you will save endless time basecoating a horde army.
It is a warm pure brown and will also work equally well on warmachines as an alternative woodcolour compared to the more realistic Leather Brown. Looks equally great with either STRONG or DARK Tone Quickshade.

    Desert Yellow

A Colour Primer originally designed for WWII desert vehicles and uniforms. This spray is also very popular for scenery, horses, wolves, Beastmen, skaven and even light wood on warmachines and chariots. Could be used for a slightly darker variation of skin colour on miniatures with exposed flesh. Combine with STRONG Tone Quickshade for perfect results!

    Angel Green

This spray has a beautiful deep and dark green which is absolutely perfect for Dark Angel Space Marines, Wood elves or even scenery.
The Colour Primer is so dark that we recommend using only a DARK tone Quickshade on top to create noteworthy shading effects. Check our many Galleries and tutorials to see the Angel Green in use.

    Chaotic Red

A rich and very deep red colour that will fit perfectly as a basecoat for any red highlights. As the name suggests the Chaotic Red is a must have for Chaos miniature collectors of any system or as basecoat for futuristic warmachines or monsters.
Suggested Quickshade is Dark Tone, but the versatile dark red colour can also stand on its own and be highlighted immediately after drying.

    Uniform Grey

Another ideal spray for historical miniatures and those savage Space Wolves or guardsmen. As the name suggests it has been designed for the German WWII uniform/vehicle colour. Its ashen colour is also great for terrain and it works escpecially well with DARK Tone Quickshade, creating a really deep finish.

    Wolf Grey

Wolf Grey is a beautiful greyish blue colour, perfect for Space Wolves or Urban fatigues, furs, monsters or as a great alternative to blue. This colour will work exceptionally well with STRONG or DARK tone Quickshade.

    Army Green

As the name suggests, this Colour Primer is great for historical miniatures representing armed forces. But also Wood Elves and futuristic models, for instance, would look great with this colour, as well as plague daemons of all origins.

    Plate Mail Metal

A truly unique spray. It has the look of hardened steel yet still being so matt that other acrylic paints cover it perfectly. This spray has endless uses and anything in armour craves an undercoat of this fantastic Colour Primer - saving you loads of time!

    Ultramarine Blue

The name says it all... But apart from Space Marines, this is also the perfect colour for Lizardmen, Imp. guard, Cygnar or American Civil War for instance.
The Ultramarine Blue colour works well with DARK Tone, shading it to a beautiful finish.

    Dragon Red

This spray is a very dark and deep red and is the ultimate basecoat for those Blood Angels, Khorne Bezerkers or any Khorne Daemons, Dragons or Warmachine Khador. Can be combined with DARK Tone Quickshade for a menacing and brooding look. Check the examples to the right.

    Necrotic Flesh

It is ideal for the rotten skin of Ghouls, zombies, vampires, pestilence demons and plague warshipping ratmen etc.
However, As with all CPs, its uses are not limited to the living dead alone and this cool colour can be used on anything else. Perfect Matt colour.

    Greenskin

The name says it all... The perfect primer for all Orcs and Goblin armies. A strong green colour also useful for army projects like Wood Elves or those Space Marine Dark Angels or Salamanders or any scenery. Use DARK Tone Quickshade for best results.

    Pure Red

A truly groundbreaking spray. The pigment in the Colour Primer is such a good quality that it will easily cover even previous black undercoated models!
Its uses are endless within the Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Historical genre. Use STRONG Tone or DARK Tone Quickshade for fantastic results.
